How to Support this project and others like it

The October 26, 2021 decision by the San Francisco Board of Supervisors to vote against a project that would have turned a parking lot into 500 housing units was a watershed moment. For many it made clear the fact that as a City we are incapable of handling ourselves the housing crisis that has warped the demographics and socio-economics of San Francisco beyond anything morally defensible. We must therefore focus our efforts on empowering our State government to relieve SF of its responsibility for housing its citizens.

There, if you want to support this project or others life it we asked that you do two things:

  1. Donate To YIMBY Action. From their website: “YIMBY Action started out as a group advocating for housing in San Francisco, one of the worst cities in the U.S. in terms of housing cost and availability. Since then, we’ve teamed up with people in other growing cities and towns across the U.S. who saw housing become more expensive and scarce in their communities. Now, YIMBY Action has chapters from coast to coast of the US. Through our network, chapters get access to training, tools, and a community of other people passionate about housing.”

  2. Vote for state-level, pro-housing candidates such as Senator Scott Weiner and Assemblymember Buffy Wicks.
